Colsea Systems Limited was founded at the end of 2012 by
Martin Sullivan.
Martin has 20 years experience in the software
engineering sector.
Having graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in
1992, Martin went to work for Wormald Fire Systems based
in Manchester. During this period he was
employed as a Systems Engineer, within a dedicated project
team, providing bespoke Fire and Gas/ESD systems for a
world wide client base. Responsible for the
design, test, installation and commissioning of systems
based around a variety of products either selected by the
client, or chosen by the project team in order to meet the
client requirements.
In July 2001, Martin relocated to Aberdeen and commenced
work for Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions, working as
part of a small team offering fast track solutions to
clients, both within the North Sea Oil & Gas sector
and further afield. During this period Martin was also
responsible for the ongoing support of existing systems
previously installed by Tyco.
In 2007, Martin left Tyco and went to work for Tierney
Strachan Consulting Limited. Whilst at Tierney Strachan he
was involved in several major subsea contracts for a
diverse range of clients both in the UK and across the
world.
In 2012, Martin returned to Tyco in order to assist with
the hardware and software commissioning of the Noble
GlobeTrotter II, a new drill ship being constructed in
China. During this period he was involved in the
commissioning of the F&G and ESD systems on board the
vessel. Martin was responsible for liaison with the
shipyard , various certification bodies and
representatives of the vessel owner. Upon completion of
the commissioning phase, Martin was contracted by Noble to
be part of the vessel crew on the first leg of its journey
from China to Holland, where the vessel was due to have
its topside equipment installed.
